Why innovation is vital to our business future
Innovations are what drive our world. They push boundaries, solve challenges, and bring forth new opportunities. Whether planned or a happy accident, innovations are what allow us to reach new realms of possibilities and improve our lives.

Each year the Chamber and Big Idea Connectpreneur celebrate innovations in business through our Mid-Atlantic Innovation Celebration. We've intentionally left this much-coveted award's qualifications vague because we know innovation can be found anywhere and manifest as anything. Past winners have ranged from innovations in water quality to human resource processes. We want you to tell us what is innovative!

Applying for the awards is easy: all we need is a 1-2 minute video application submitted by March 25th. Need inspiration for your 1-2 minute video application? We'll announce the 2022 Innovator of the Year and a People's Choice Winner at our Mid-Atlantic Innovation Celebration on May 12th. The Celebration will be held at a movie theater and, along with plenty of elbow-rubbing opportunities with key market leaders, will have enough fun to make it an event like no other. Will you be the 2022 Innovator of the Year? We won't know unless you apply!

Vaccination Requirement: Upon review of both the CDC guidance on community levels of COVID-19 and its website listings showing our own Northen Virginia counties' positive case percentages, the Chamber has removed its proof of COVID-19 vaccination requirements. Additionally, the Chamber will no longer require masks be worn. You are welcome to wear a mask if that makes you comfortable. 
 
As always, if you are sick or feel you are getting sick, we ask that you please stay home.
 
The Chamber will continue to follow COVID-19 guidance from local health departments and the CDC for in person events.

A survey from Fall 2021 indicates that an estimated 545,000 adults in Northern Virginia (28%) are experiencing symptoms of clinical anxiety or depression, a sharp increase from pre-pandemic times. But complex barriers to basic mental health services—to therapy, helpful medications, and early interventions—abound.

Join us and our panel of state and national experts for a candid discussion of the challenges of accessing basic mental health services in Northern Virginia, and what innovative ideas and opportunities may exist to address this critical issue that impacts us all.

The Greater Washington Apprentice Network April Employer Briefing

The Greater Washington Apprentice Network (GWAN) brings together employers, academic institutions, public and private sectors. Employers gain access to best practices from organizational peers, sources of prospective apprentice candidates, support services, academic institutions, and training resources. The GWAN meets on the first Tuesday of each month for an Employer Briefing.
