New State Regulations on Businesses To Limit COVID-19 Spread
On Friday, June 12, the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry (DOLI) posted draft regulations related to COVID-19 called for by the Governor last month. The comment period for these regulations is open until June 22. The Chamber is reviewing the regulations and will provide comment to DOLI. 

If you would like the Chamber to provide specific feedback on the regulations, please contact VP of Government Relations Clayton Medford at cmedford@novachamber.org  before June 22.

The Business Voice
The summer issue of The Business Voice will feature some of the many unique and creative ways that local businesses and institutions have adapted to the changes brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as updates on Chamber activities, members and events. 

The Business Voice is the official magazine of the Chamber and will be mailed to nearly 2,500 Chamber members in mid-July. The advertising deadline is Friday, June 26.

Great work! WMATA has received hundreds of responses to its employer survey. If you have not filled out the survey yet,  there is still time . This is a critical opportunity for your organization to share your re-opening plans so that Metro can be in the position to provide adequate service for your employees who rely on transit to get to and from work. Currently the agency is targeting late summer for the next phase of its Recovery Plan, which will include doubled rail capacity and the reopening of all stations. You can read the latest on WMATA’s Recovery Plan  here .

As Virginians return to work, child care is a critical workforce support. To better understand employer perspectives on the child care needs of employees, we need employers across the Commonwealth to complete this short survey. The Back to Work Virginia: A Child Care Recovery and Renaissance Task Force will use the data to shape recommendations for an improved child care system to support Virginia's families, businesses, and economy. Tech on Tap: With kids at home this summer, you need a game plan. Two Virginia Tech STEM education specialists will guide us through outdoor and indoor activities in which families can have so much fun they won’t realize how much they’re learning. They will also share strategies that help adults get to know and better understand what their kids are thinking and how they think and learn. Click here .
