The name may have changed, but the fun continues on with this year's Mid-Atlantic Innovation Celebration! Submit your video application by March 15th to be eligible for the Region’s zaniest event showcasing great minds and business creativity.

How will you know if your business is an Innovator? In our eyes, “innovators" can be almost anything, from cutting-edge products that solve business needs to creative shifts that improved your company’s employee morale… And anything in between! We’re looking for any and all innovations that have made a positive business impact. It’s up to you to show us what that looks like and why it should be celebrated.

NOVA Chamber membership is not required to apply or win.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Thank you to all the Chamber members who participated in our annual Lobby Day last week. We had great conversations with Gov. Northam, Speaker Eileen Filler-Corn, House Majority Leader Charniele Herring, House Minority Leader Todd Gilbert, and Del. David Reid, business liaison to the Democratic Caucus. You can watch 2021 Lobby Day here.

It is a busy week for the General Assembly as they head toward the Friday crossover deadline, after which each Chamber can only advance bills originated in the other Chamber. The General Assembly is set to adjourn on Feb. 11.

A significant new District of Columbia law will soon ban most post-employment non-competes, limit employers’ right to restrict employees from engaging in outside work while employed, and require employers (whether they use non-competes or not) to provide written notices to new and current employees.
