Dolphin Swim Team 

Code of Conduct for Coaches, Swimmers, and Parents/Guardians 

1. The Dolphin Swim Team is unified in a competitive swim league. No matter a swimmer's age, gender, and swimming ability, we are teammates and will exhibit good sportsmanship. 
2. We will refrain from judging, criticizing, or gossiping about each other. 
3. We will treat all team members (coaches, swimmers, parents, officials) and opponents with dignity and respect.
4. We will be dedicated and loyal to our club and swim team. We will be vocally supportive. 
5. We will display our team pride with good sportsmanship, and our appearance shall be neat, clean, and appropriate. Team swim caps and suits should be worn for all meets. 
6. We encourage all swimmers to participate in all team activities, practices, and swim meets, and we expect swimmers to stay in the designated team area(s) at all swim meets. 
7. We will arrive at practices, swim meets, dryland, and team events allowing enough time to begin at the scheduled time. 
8. We will commit to putting forth our best effort daily. We will display honesty and best effort. This does not include cutting laps, hanging/pulling on the lane lines, missing practices, and missing swim meets and team events. 
9. We are all responsible for the care and proper use of the swim team and Dolphin Swim Club equipment and facilities and such equipment and facilities when visiting other swim clubs for swim meets. Practice is finished once all supplies are returned to the storage shed and lane lines are removed from the pool and properly stored. In addition, we are all responsible for cleaning up after ourselves and after practice sessions and swim meets (this includes picking up trash, water bottles, arranging chairs and tables, etc.). Everyone helps! 
10. Parents will volunteer for a minimum of 3 swim meets. We will require a $75 fee in lieu of volunteering.
11. Dolphin Club dues must be paid before the first outdoor practice (June 16, 2023). 
12. Please ensure all swimmers are signed up in TeamSnap for all notifications about the swim team.
13. We will give the Coaches at least 48 hours advance notice if they cannot attend a swim meet. Preparation of the swim meet sheet and line-up(s) begins two days before a swim meet, not showing up for a swim meet without notifying the coaches in advance will prevent other swimmers from swimming and create additional work for the coaches. We understand swimmers may get sick before swim meets, that is taken into consideration. 
14. We will refrain from using drugs, alcohol, tobacco, e-cigarettes/vaping, and any other product(s) detrimental to our health and inappropriate for minors. 

Failure to comply with the Code of Code may result in disciplinary action. Such discipline may include, but may not be limited to the following: 

• Dismissal from a practice session and swim meet and asked to leave the swim club facilities/property; 
• Disqualification from one or more swim meet events or suspension from an entire swim meet; 
• Dismissal from the swim team. 

• Parents will be required to volunteer for a minimum of 3 swim meets this season. The Swim team will require a $75 fee in lieu of volunteering.

Water

Plastic water bottles are not permitted. All swimmers are expected to have a refillable water bottle. Dolphin and Vineland High School have a bottle filler so swimmers can refill their water bottle.

Fins and Snorkels

Ages 9 and up should bring a set of fins and snorkels to practice.
