City of Carlsbad State of the Community
Here's to working together! CRC's working with the City of Carlsbad to help people experiencing homelessness. CRC's Integrative Services Program Manager, Karen Gascar, was featured in a video presented at the event, with an excellent description of our work helping people find pathways to stable housing in our community.
If you have a rental property, consider partnering with us to help our neighbors facing homelessness.

San Diego Gives Results

Thank you for winning the race with us during San Diego Gives!
Together, we raised $15,453!

Your support will help many of our neighbors experiencing hunger win their own race to a brighter future. All the donations will help support our Food & Nutrition Services, which include our client-choice food pantry, that allows people freedom to choose the food they want to prepare their meals. Thank you on behalf of those who need to receive healthy food!
Produce Gives Gleaning Event
Labor for our neighbors! A great way to start Hunger Awareness Month
CRC Staff joined Produce Good over Labor Day weekend to help pick lemons from an orchard in Rancho Santa Fe. Together, they gleaned almost 2,000 pounds of lemons that were received by our Food Pantry and other food banks in our community. Thank you, Produce Good for all you do in recovering healthy food and helping our community!
CRC Staff Volunteered at The Art of Fashion for The Country Friends
Friends helping friends is the meaning of community
This month, CRC staff volunteered to help at the Art of Fashion, a fundraising event hosted by The Country Friends. We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon helping at this beautiful event.
CRC is a grateful recipient of many grants and support from this great organization that provides supportive funding for many San Diego human care organizations.
Thank you for your support!
Funding from our partners supports CRC’s mission to help our neighbors create paths to healthy food, stable homes and safe relationships. We are grateful for the generous support received from these individuals and organizations in August:

R.C. Baker Foundation
The Katherine D. White and Sons Fund
Robert and Janice Pollock
Volunteers
From the Desk of John Van Cleef — A Volunteer's CRC Story
Every day we’re surrounded by reminders of why we do what we do. The best word I know for it is compassion – not just feeling for someone, but walking with someone in their experience to be a comfort and help.

No one can do another person’s journey, but this beautifully written story captures the power of walking with someone on their journey.

To our volunteer who took time to author and share her experience: Thank you for helping us see and feel what we’re surrounded by every day. I promise the careful reading of this will be worth the three to four minutes of your time. Read more

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Every October, Community Resource Center joins with our partners, supporters and friends in our community to recognize Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
One in four women and one in seven men will experience domestic violence in their lifetimes.
Anyone can become a victim of domestic violence. The goal is to raise awareness, deepen community engagement and mobilize support for domestic and sexual violence programs serving the survivors of intimate partner abuse.
