National Physician Suicide Awareness Day – September 17
Saturday, September 17, is National Physician Suicide Awareness Day. The FAFP acknowledges the critical need to break down the culture of silence around physicians' mental health, encouraging those who are experiencing burnout, depression, or suicidal thoughts to seek care. Stay tuned for a special news report that will be released this Friday, featuring FAFP member, Dr. Delicia Haynes. For more information, click here.

Honoring FAFP Past President, Dr. William Belk
William Belk, MD, FAAFP of Pensacola, FL, passed away Monday, September 5, 2022. Dr. Belk, 75, was President of FAFP in 1995 and was an inspirational leader and beloved husband, father, friend and colleague. He worked tirelessly and selflessly to provide for his family, friends and patients.

His service will be held 1:00pm Friday, September 16, 2022, at Christ Episcopal Church, 18 W Wright St. in Pensacola, FL with The Rev. Dr. Michael Hoffman officiating. There will be a reception following in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Christ Episcopal Church Music Department, 18 W Wright St., Pensacola, FL 32501 and the Pensacola Symphony, 205 E Zaragoza St., Pensacola, FL 32502.
