Ten Days Left to Apply for a Fellowship & The First-Ever Money MILE

Fellowship Applications Due November 1

Mitchell Scholars and Alumni are invited to apply for a Fall 2022 Mitchell Fellowship Award -- up to $1,500 -- to financially support your pursuit of internships, service projects, certification or graduate school entry exams, and study abroad opportunities. The fall cycle supports confirmed projects that are scheduled to occur between December 2022 and June 2023. Notification of decisions will be sent within three weeks of the deadline. Award checks will be disbursed in mid-November. You're eligible to apply if you have not received a Fellowship Award in the last twelve months. Recipients are asked to complete a community service project within one year of receiving the award.

Join Us for Money MILE on November 5

Saturday, November 5 10am-12:15pm EST Via Zoom The Mitchell Institute Alumni Council and staff are excited to present the first-ever Money MILE, a virtual event designed to provide Scholars and Alumni with a safe space to build their understanding of money-related topics and give them tools to improve their financial well-being. Scheduled topics (subject to change) include: Foundations of Financial Wellness - Join Sarah Newcomb of FAME to learn why financial stability is important and how to improve your own financial wellness. Subjects to include budgeting, saving, and student loan management. Investing 101: The Basics of Investing - Confused about how the stock market works? Mitchell Alumna Amy Qiu will cover the who, what, when, where, why, and how of investing. Opening the Door to Home Ownership - Mitchell Alumna Arden Stuckey, a licensed real estate agent, will share her insights about how to approach the often daunting process of buying a house. The content of this brand new event is geared toward current Scholars and recent Alumni, but anyone who might find this content helpful is welcome.

Apply Here Plus... The Odyssey Fund The Odyssey Fund provides grants to current Mitchell Scholars who do not have the funds needed to obtain a passport, student visa or vaccinations necessary for international travel. Applicants may apply for grants of up to $250. Funds must be used to assist with expenses that otherwise may prohibit international travel.
