The Journey to Generosity...
5.26 %
You will see this figure often in the next several weeks. It is a big number!

First Presbyterian Church is giving, on average, 5.26 % of what we have. “What we have” for some is, annual income over which we have discretion. For others, “what we have” is an annual draw from assets.

5.26% is nearly double the average gift of church members
in all denominations.
5.26 % is a mile marker on The Journey to Generosity.

But, the average gift of others is not the standard. Giving more than others give is not the goal. The goal is to become generous people. Generosity is not measured by the amount we give. Generosity is measured by our attitude about what we give.

5.26% is a really big number.
It is an indication of really big hearts.

November Worship Theme

November 4: Giving in Faith Together: The Upright Heart

November 11: Giving in Faith Together: The Journey to Generosity

November 18: Giving in Faith Together: Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way

And November 25?
We have a special guest preacher who will lift up a little-known event that happened at First Presbyterian in 1949. A seemingly small decision has had a far-reaching impact. It’s one more example of how this church is changing lives.

P.S. Many are speculating about who this guest preacher is. Have fun…but you’re never going to get it.

November's 1stWed@FIRST is this coming Wednesday!

On November 7th at 5:45 p.m. not only will you be treated to a dinner of spiral-cut ham, mashed potatoes and green beans, but our very own Roy Sharpe will be speaking on "Breaking in a New Pastor."

You won't want to miss out on this fun night of food and fellowship!
Ever get home after Worship on Sunday morning and think, "I know Roy said something about an event at church this week I want to go to, but I can't remember the exact date/time?"

Now you don't have to worry because our website has a complete calendar of events that include all the details you need to know! Be sure to check it out if you haven't already!
The church office will be closed Friday, November 2nd and Monday, November 5th. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Please keep the Hardy's in your prayers as Jim Hardy underwent back surgery this past week and is now recovering in rehab.
There will be no rehearsal for Joyful Ringers on Wednesday, November 7th. Practice will resume on the 14th.
