Portland Youth Dance News

Portland Youth Dance Scholarships for Fall Classes at Casco Bay Movers


Portland Youth Dance offers several scholarships annually to qualified applicants, allowing them to take a dance class once a week throughout the school year at Casco Bay Movers Dance Studio, culminating in an end-of-year performance. Applications can be submitted from the community at large. Each scholarship is based on financial need, individual qualities, and professional recommendation and is determined by Portland Youth Dance's Board of Directors. Scholarships are awarded in August & December of each year.

Summer Drop-in Classes for Teens & Adults

Summer drop-in

classes for teens and adults are in full swing! There is no need to pre-register; simply come in when you're ready to dance!


Click here to purchase our Super Saver Summer Class Pass is available throughout the summer: $145 for 10 classes.


Students may purchase multiple passes; however, they are only valid for the summer session.

Musical Theater Jazz Class Series

with Christina Belinksy

Tuesdays from 6:45-8:15 pm | 7.28, 8.4, 8.11, 8.25

We are thrilled to welcome Christina Belinsky back to the studio this summer. Join her for joyful, vigorous, and uplifting classes on Tuesdays, July 28, August 4, 11 and 25, from 6:45-8:15. $18/$16 or a card punch.


Christina is a dancer, choreographer, film-maker, producer, and dance educator based in the Western Mountains of Maine. She is a graduate of Dean College with an A.A. in Dance and the Trustees Prize in Dance and University of the Arts with a B.F.A. in Modern Dance Performance and the award for Most Outstanding Performance in Modern Dance. Her career spans many genres of dance from ballet to musical theater, concert dance to television and film. Professional regional theater credits include Irving Berlin's White Christmas, Mary Poppins, A Christmas Carol, Footloose, The Producers, Sweet Charity, Seussical: The Musical, Charlotte’s Web, and the NYC industry reading of "Woody: A New Fairytale". Christina has performed all over the US, Canada, Spain, Brazil, Russia, Israel, and Tokyo’s TheatreOrb with the International tour of The Aluminum Show (’10-’13 Dance Captain/Swing, ’25 Tour Producer), the National tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Dance Captain/Swing) directed and choreographed by Tony-Award-winner Andy Blankenbuehler, and the 1st Broadway National Tour of Finding Neverland (Ensemble/ Peter Pan cover) directed by Diane Paulus with choreography by Mia Michaels. TV and film credits include HBO's The Gilded Age Seasons 1-3, Westworld, Dance Mom's, MTV, HGTV, and various commercials. She has had the honor of working with industry leaders such as Karla Puno Garcia, Nancy Braun, Stephanie Klemmons, Joey Pizzi, and John Carrafa. www.ChristinaBelinsky.com

Faculty News


Congratulations to Elizabeth Lau and Holly Taylor, who completed DanceAbility Teacher Certification in June. They are now fully certified, and Holly will offer weekly DanceAbility classes for dancers ages 7-12 years through our 7-week class program beginning this fall. Learn more here.


Vanessa Beyland is the Assistant Director for Opera Maine's production of Romeo et Juliette, premiering in late July. She is also the choreographer for Matilda Jr at Maine State Music Theater.


Rose Hutchins' Ballet Bloom will present The Little Mermaid at City Theater in Biddeford in August.


Scott McPheeters is teaching for the Young Dancers Intensive at Bates Dance Festival.


Hannah Kumaski and collaborator Gizeh Muniz led a 4-day contemporary floorwork, somatics, and improvisation intensive, It's Just a Portal at CBM last week.
