  • Submit a Restoration Application
  • Pay the Required Renewal Fee
  • Complete Your CE Hours
  • Estheticians: 10 CE Hours
  • Cosmetologists: 14 CE Hours

Inactive for More Than 5 Years?


A little more effort—but you’ve got options!


Start following this path to restore your license:

  • Provide proof of working as a licensed esthetician or cosmetologist in another state for 2 or more years, along with verification from that state.
  • OR Complete a 250-Hour Refresher Course at a licensed school (like NASI!)
  • OR Pass the Illinois State Licensing Exam again.
