Don't miss the
Darnell Davis and the Remnant Concert this Friday!!
Dear Heart of the City Friends,

You all know how divisive our culture is right now - across political and racial/ethnic lines. It's so tragic and painful, and there is such disagreement about what to do about it. But I believe that sometimes small efforts of good will and support and love can be a big part of getting us to a better place!

We are really used to having our "Christian activities" be mostly segregated - so much so that we don't even notice how, in such an ethnically diverse area like the Twin Cities, we remain mostly segregated. When a "white" church holds an event or concert, it's most likely going to be mostly "white" people who show up. And if a "black" church holds a concert or event, it's mostly going to be mostly "black" people who attend. And because of that, we aren't exposed to each other's ministries and music, we know very little about each other and each segregated event builds upon the "normality" of being separate. This should not be the case!

One of the reasons we are doing our concert series at the Music Factory in Anoka is to spotlight diverse Christian artists with the goal of exposing their great music and ministry to broader audiences.

This Friday night is a great opportunity for that to happen! I have to wonder if there's ever been a Gospel/Urban Contemporary concert in Anoka besides the one's that we've already hosted at the Music Factory!? When you purchase a ticket and come out and support great local artists like Darnell Davis and the Remnant, you not only get to get in on a great concert, but you make a strong statement of support for them and their ministry and music! You also share a positive experience together in the same room, in the name of Jesus, with others of different ethnicities than your own!

So I want to encourage you to come out this Friday night at 8 PM! Be blessed and be a blessing!! Tickets are just $20.00 in advance and $25.00 at the door. (Just click the tab below to order online)
