You won't want to miss this popular event -- Dr. Karl Stofko's annual presentation of weird and wonderful historic events from East Haddam's colorful past!
Dr. Karl Stofko, author, town and Historical Society historian, is East Haddam's very own walking historical encyclopedia and master mystery storyteller. This year, he will share intriguing stories of:
- "Accidental Death": 2 families, 2 deaths. One is accidental and the other is an ax murder -- all in the Ackley/Smith family!
- "Double Murder By Fire": Halsey Coon burned both his wives in the Millington section of East Haddam!

East Haddam Stories: Documenting Local Lives
East Haddam Stories honors Anita Gelston Ballek in a fascinating video interview, A Life and Family Rooted in Local History. Ken Simon interviewed Anita Ballek to learn about her lineage from Nicholas Ackley in Much Hadham, England. He was one of seven founding families of East Haddam. Anita shared many stories that captured her love for the land and its preservation into the future.

Descendants of Elihu Geer
Seventeen Elihu Geer (1818-87) descendants from several states visited Elvira, the Civil War doll donated by Lynne Yagel. The Geer family has donated General Elihu Geer’s portrait, pieces of his uniform, clothing, trunk, map, and a family memoir. The family visits EHHS when they come to Hadlyme for reunions. We're always so glad to welcome them!

Monday Nights: Yoga at the Museum!
Yoga at the Museum, led by Colleen Alexander, includes seated meditation, gentle warm-ups, and engaging flow with holds to build strength and connect body and mind. The class closes with a guided meditation and gentle sound healing. Colleen has a strong focus on creating body, mind, and spirit connections to awaken and unite the entire being.
Colleen is a certified yoga and meditation teacher, a Reiki practitioner, a published author, and lives on a nonprofit animal sanctuary farm in East Haddam with her husband Sean.
Date: Mondays at 7:00 PM
