This presentation will address the common misconception that all social security claiming strategies were eliminated as of May 1, 2016. In fact, there is one strategy that is still available and this session will explain how it works, how it may generate extra Social Security income, and who is qualified to use it.
Learning Objective:  At the end of this session, advisors will understand the importance of Social Security claiming strategies when advising clients on how best to position themselves financially for retirement.

This  interactive case study will focus on the wealth and estate planning needs of a multi-generational family comprised of elderly parents, their middle-aged children and grandchildren. For the elderly parents, key planning factors to be considered include tax management, risk management, investment management, elder care planning, and estate planning. For the children, key factors will be tax management, risk management, investment management, retirement planning, and estate planning. Client data sheets and charts illustrating LTC/life insurance solutions and Roth conversion options will be provided.
Learning Objectives:  At the end of this session, attendees will  (1)  understand the need to bring together multi-generations of a family when it comes to wealth and estate planning, ( 2) b e aware of the role that family dynamics may play when working with multi-generations of a family, and  (3)  understand the key planning factors unique to each generation that need to be considered to ensure a comprehensive financial plan is designed to meet their needs.
