Imagine yourself there...thanks to Assistant Curator Sean Conklin: "Sprawling lawns with hundreds of trees, a serene nature trail along the banks of the Allegheny River, ivy lined buildings with Italian Renaissance style tile roofs...it's not the description for a movie set, it's where the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts is nestled in the heart of the enchanted mountains of Western, NY. An art museum unlike any other in our area, we offer the potential to work with a collection spanning multiple decades - from Fran Angelico to Andy Warhol, the statues of John Rogers to ancient Mayan ceramics. We even have a "mermaid."
New to the Creativity Incubator? This workshop series invites staff in museums to test out experimental interpretive approaches. The end goal of the program is to open our eyes to the possibilities and encourage museums to think more imaginatively about the interpretation of their collections and the visitor experience.
We're very excited to bring this unique opportunity to museums around our great state - and hope you'll join us on this journey to think more creatively. We can't wait to see what ideas hatch!
Intrigued? Registration is only $25 for New York State museums and museum professionals; $35 for those out-of-state.
See you in Olean!
