Momentum For Change: Showcasing Climate Action Around the World

There are only three weeks left to apply to become a 2017 Momentum for Change Lighthouse Activity. If you haven't done so already, be sure to nominate your climate action project for a chance to have it showcased at the UN Climate Change Conference in Bonn, Germany, this November. We want to hear from you!

Celebrating the Importance of Forests and Water
This week, we're celebrating International Day of Forests (21 March) and World Water Day (22 March).

The importance of both of these days is reflected in the work of the many Momentum for Change winners - known as Lighthouse Activities - that focus on protecting forests and providing clean water.

On each International Day of Forests, countries are encouraged to undertake local, national and international efforts to organize activities involving forests and trees, such as tree planting campaigns. Learn about action already underway below:
World Water Day is about taking action to tackle the water crisis. Today, there are over 663 million people living without a safe water supply close to home, spending countless hours queuing or trekking to distant sources, and coping with the health impacts of using contaminated water.
