Don’t Miss Out on Summer Blessings

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another.

~Hebrews 10: 24

Why do you go to church for Sunday worship? Is it to worship God? Is it to grow in your faith? Is it for the connections with fellow believers? All those reasons are great. All three together are wonderful.

It is within church fellowship that we find the greatest encouragement. In worship, we hear one another praying the Lord’s prayer, perhaps deepening our feelings of being together in Christ. We grow in understanding through prayers, hymns and a message based on Scripture. We often grow in faith in small groups discussions listening to one another’s thoughts and experiences.

All these reasons, and more, should compel us to faithful summer church attendance. The strength of Christian fellowship comes from knowing that our church family will be there for us in times of celebration and in times of trouble and sorrow. We are bound together by our love for Christ. The body of Christ, which is the church, needs each one of us as often as we can get there.

Summer travels and lake homes may take us away from the area, but we still are greatly blessed by a worship service in a new setting. Whatever compels you to attend church doesn’t need a summer vacation. Stay connected with God and with your church seeking fellowship the year through and your blessings will multiply.
