Florida Reimbursement Assistance for Medical Education (FRAME)

Today in Tallahassee, FAFP Past President and Interim Dean of the FSU College of Medicine, Dr. Alma Littles (center), joined Florida Lt. GovernoJeanette Núñez, FMA CEO Chris Clark, State Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo and others to highlight awards for physicians and other healthcare professionals who applied for medical loan repayment under the Florida Reimbursement Assistance for Medical Education (FRAME) program.  Over the course of the last two legislative sessions in Tallahassee, the FAFP has heavily supported the effort that successfully obtained a state appropriation of $16 million, both this year and next, that will provide up to $20,000 in physician loan repayment per cycle. While over 600 awards and nearly $13 million in loan repayments were provided to physicians, the FAFP is also aware of the fact that many of our members applied for but did not receive funding. Please rest assured that the FAFP is continuing to work with state officials to ensure the distribution of awards, both current and future, is fair and equitable, and that more funds are appropriated in the future.

Private Practice Acquisition Opportunity

A new private equity collaborative based in Florida, Assurance Growth Partners (AGP), is looking for potential investment opportunities in healthcare across the state. Specifically, they are interested in investing in primary care physician practice acquisition opportunities, as well as medical technology and home health agencies. The FAFP is providing this information to members who maintain an independent or private practice and may be in a position to consider an acquisition arrangement. Just as the FAFP facilitates employment opportunities via the FAFP Career Center Job Board or connections with accountable care organizations in Florida, it is important to assist members who are looking to transition out of practice ownership.

If you are interested in learning more about these opportunities and wish to connect with AGP, please CLICK HERE to complete a brief questionnaire to facilitate a conversation with an AGP representative.
