Celebrate America's birthday in Historic Downtown Perry at the City's annual Red, White & Boom Independence Day Celebration on July 4 from 7:00 to 10:00 PM!
Enjoy an evening of live entertainment with DJ Mixmaster T, delicious food from a variety of food trucks, and free family-friendly activities including face painting, balloon art, and Middle Georgia Gellyball. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, family, and friends as the community comes together to celebrate Independence Day.
The evening will conclude with a spectacular fireworks show beginning at approximately 9:20 PM!

Jara Hurt Hired As City of Perry Downtown Manager
The City of Perry is pleased to announce the hiring of Jara Hurt as Downtown Manager. She will lead efforts to support Historic Downtown Perry's continued growth, business development, and community engagement.
"Historic Downtown Perry is a special place that reflects the heart of our community," said Hurt. "I am honored to have the opportunity to serve in this role and help support the businesses, events, and partnerships that make downtown such a vibrant destination for residents and visitors alike."

Perry Police Chief Alan Everidge recently conducted a badge pinning ceremony to recognize several officers who have earned promotions within the department.
Family members, fellow officers, and department staff gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of the newly promoted officers and recognize their continued leadership and service.
The following officers were recognized during the ceremony:

The annual Splash ‘N Bash hosted by Perry Leisure Services returns to Creekwood Park (110 Ida Lasseter Circle) on July 25 from 10 AM to noon!

Stormwater Bingo Recap!
Kids ages 8–10 put their environmental knowledge to the test during Stormwater Bingo on June 17!
Through an interactive bingo-style game, participants learned how stormwater travels through the community, how pollution can impact local waterways, and the simple everyday actions everyone can take to help protect our environment.
The free program combined learning and play with hands-on activities that encouraged curiosity, teamwork, and environmental stewardship. Thank you to everyone who joined us for a fun morning of learning about the important role we all play in keeping Perry's waterways clean!

May 2026 Perry Fire & Emergency Services Stats
The City of Perry Fire & Emergency Services Department received a total of 317 calls during the month of May in 2026.
The Perry Fire Department is a 2-station department that contains a staff of firefighters providing fire protection, emergency medical services, technical rescue operations, fire safety education, fire cause investigation, and fire code inspections to a population of over 26,000 across 27.9 square miles.
