Our very own Chef Ada will be kicking off the Power of Produce(POP) Club this Saturday. Bring your little ones to the POP Tent from 10am-noon, where Chef Ada will be doing fun food activities, demonstrating the magic of spinach, and sampling two berrylicious recipes - a yummy spinach salad, and strawberry cinnamon tortillas.

Every child who participates and signs up for the POP Club will receive $3 in POP Bucks to shop the market for fresh fruits and veggies!

Heidi has been busy all week churning out an amazing fresh Strawberry Vanilla Bean Ice Cream! And that's not all... she's also offering a Strawberry Prosecco Sorbet. Be sure to get there early for these super special Strawberry Day treats!

spring mix, spinach, arugula, pak choy, chard, kale, collards, red leaf, green leaf and romaine lettuce, cabbage, fennel, dill, parsley, cilantro, Hakurei turnips, beets, carrots, scallions, radishes, applesauce. And maybe the first zucchini of the season - but quantities will be limited!

Note: This is possibly the last week of spinach.

Cannas will be available for the first time this year at the Backyard Growers. Richard and Ed are also introducing a new item - decorative hot peppers! Blooming exotic yellow and dark orange Clivia will be available, along with Gerbera daisy, Cape Primrose, Streptocarpus, and more!!

The big Maitake Sale continues this week. The "Maitake" (dancing mushroom in Japanese) is said to have gotten its name after people danced with happiness upon finding it in the wild, such are its incredible healing properties.

Peace Tree Farm Perennials! Bees are buzzing about these days and we must provide sustenance for them – Peace Tree Farm has plenty of Beeloved plants for your garden and pots. Echinacea ‘Pow Wow’ and ‘Cheyenne’ are loaded with buds. With Salvias and Tropical Asclepias it will be a botanical smorgasbord for our friends, the bees and hummingbirds! Other Beeloved varieties will be available too.

Pheasant Hill Farm is thinking strawberries as Don’s PorTch Tea Kombucha will have three varieties of strawberry kombucha this week, along with other favs. There will be strawberry mint, strawberry chamomile and strawberry tulsi. Mel's bouquets will feature gorgeous chantilly snapdragons, little sunflowers, nigella, bells of Ireland and more.

This is genius! Liza is offering 1/2 pint containers of her decadent, homemade chocolate ganache - perfect for dipping all those scrumptious strawberries! But that's far from all. Her other Strawberry Day delights include: Strawberry shortcake made with light and fluffy Angel Foodood cake, Strawberry Rhubarb crumb pie, Fresh strawberry pie, Strawberry sour cream cake loaves, Strawberry cheesecake bars (by the piece), and Strawberry banana muffins

For Strawberry Day Karen is making Strawberry Pies (of course) and Mini Strawberry Cheesecake Bites with the sweetest local strawberries. And again, the Shepard's Pie Pastie was requested, soooo Tomblers' made MORE! Look for Skip and Cariana at the stand this week as Karen will be working at the Bethlehem Rose Garden Market. She says she misses you all!

Do NOT miss these Strawberry Almond Tarts, made with fresh locally grown berries from Jett's Farm! And the Strawberry Rhubarb Danish and Raspberry Lemon Scones are pretty darn amazing too ...so much berry-filled goodness this weekend!

This weekend for Strawberry Day, Valley Milkhouse is bringing fresh strawberry goat cheese from Dove Song Dairy! This creamy, silky and slightly tart spread is perfect for dolloping on a fresh spring salad, whisking into a dressing or spreading on toast, and it's totally snackable on crackers with a fresh strawberry slice!

Birchrun Hills' featured cheese this Saturday is

Fat Cat, a semi soft farmhouse tomme with earthy, mushroomy flavors and beautiful meltability (makes the best grilled cheese!). Pair it with a chilled white wine from Tolino Vineyards and a crusty loaf of bread from Apple Ridge Farm for the perfect spring picnic.
