Celebrate Black History Month
The Harlem Renaissance generated an artistic explosion and is often considered the golden age in African American culture. Each week this month, we will focus on a unique component of Black Art that burst on the scene during this time:
Week 1: Poetry and Prose
Week 2: Painting and Sculpture
Week 3: Jazz and Swing
Week 4: Dance and Performance Art
We invite all families to learn along with our students as they dive in and explore this important time in American history. Here are some suggestions
Contact us at nddavis1@gmail.com if you wish to join the planning committee or to learn more.
Stay tuned next week as we premier our latest Acorns to Trees with St. B's video, which features our very own "Mr. Chris", with a message that ties into this special month of celebration!

Stinger Places 1st in Chess Tournament
Congratulations to Tyler Ganeriwal for his first place finish in the MLK Weekend Georgia Chess Tournament. Tyler, a first-grader at St. B's, tied for 1st in the K-1section at the tournament, which hosted nearly 300 players.
Tyler has been a member of the St. B's Chess Club since the start of his Kindergarten year, after being introduced to the game at home at an early age.
"It’s challenging to play other people," says Tyler of being a part of Chess Club. "The coaches are fun and nice. I really like getting to play chess with my sister and friends who are in the club."
This was Tyler's third Georgia Chess tournament.
