Get Emergency Ready for Hurricane Season
With hurricane season officially starting this month, it's a good time to think about disaster preparedness. When a disaster strikes, people with disabilities can be impacted more than others, so it's important to be prepared and informed.

One thing you can do right now is create your own Emergency Ready Sheet. This new, easy-to-use tool helps you keep your important information in one document so you can react quickly to hurricanes and other disasters. If an event occurs, you can share your Emergency Ready Sheet with first responders and others to ensure you receive the right supports and services.
Other Ways You Can Prepare
In addition to the Emergency Ready Sheet, we have other resources that can help.

Watch our How Do You Prepare for a Disaster video that explains what to do before an emergency event happens – like signing up for emergency alerts and assembling an emergency supply kit. It also covers what to do during and after a disaster.

For more resources and videos, see our website's Disaster Preparedness and Recovery page and our Disaster Preparedness and Recovery Videos in ASL.

And, to stay up-to-date with disaster preparedness, subscribe to our new disaster prep email list and follow us on social media.
