Come hang with us and our doggos

Join us for our first event of the year

Come see us at the Hollywood Feed in Allen on Sunday, February 4 from noon to 3 p.m. When you stop by, you can learn more about our program and meet new friends ~ or reunite with buddies you've known for years!

We are expecting to have about 15 of our foster doggos in attendance.

You can bring your own dog if your dog is dog-friendly, current on vaccinations and NOT on a retractable leash. Please don't bring dogs who could be become overwhelmed or overheated with all the activity.

Many thanks to our friends at Hollywood Feed for hosting this get-together for us!

Sweet merch alert

Our merch mavens are bringing some of our Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue hats to our Bulldog Bonanza at Hollywood Feed in Allen, so bring your credit card. These are fantastic for our bad hair days! NOTE: these are exclusive to our in-person events at this time.

Your perfect valentine has four legs

Foster girl Betty Lou Blueberry reminds us that dogs need special gifts on the day of love.

We all know chocolate is a big no-no for doggos, so consider one (or all) of these ideas:

  • Take a long walk
  • Teach them a new trick
  • Have a "date night" in and enjoy a special meal
  • Get them groomed
  • Share some special treats
  • Give them a massage
  • Snag a cute photo in a love-filled setting

If you stop by Puckett's Nursery in Allen during business hours, you'll find a fun Valentine's Day-themed photo setup you're welcome to use. Donations to Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue are encouraged, but not mandatory, because we all need some love no matter what we can afford.

Celebrating some of our recent awesome adoptions

Welcome foster momma Kelly

Kelly was a huge part of Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue about 17 years ago. Now that her kids are older, she's BAAAAACK and fostering Calvin Alan.

She writes: I am back to where I always knew I would be! Once you love dogs, you always love dogs and will do anything you can to help them for the rest of your life. We have a son on the autism spectrum, so I actually started another non-profit called AUsome Moms about 10 years ago. If you know of any moms with kids on the autism spectrum, send them my way and my team helps them find resources, support and a place to belong. There are now 8,500 moms in the group, and it's just a Dallas-Fort Worth based organization.

Welcome back, Kelly! Love is how you earned your wings.

We. Need. More. Help.

We are in dire need of more foster families in the Dallas/Fort Worth area! We'd love to find some helping hands who can fill in when are other foster families are out of town. The time you give will be brief, but the difference you make will be everlasting. Message us to learn how to apply and join our lifesaving team!

Bulldog history

The Bulldog Club of America was the first Bulldog specialty club organized in this county and is Lone Star Bulldog Club's "Parent Club." Mr. H. D. Kendall of Lowell, Massachusetts initially conceived of The Bulldog Club of America's formation as far back as 1890. Check out this page to learn more.

Protect those pearly whites

Don't turn your nose up at your dog's bad breath! It could be sign of something much more serious.

Remember:

  • Brush their teeth with dog-safe toothpaste daily
  • Clean their gums (very important for Bulldogs ~ hair gets trapped easily!)
  • Give them dog-friendly crunchy veggies
  • Get professional cleanings
  • Always have your vet examine their mouths

Weighing in on all your questions

Do you have a burning question about Bulldogs? Email us so we can pose it to our friends on Facebook. We have more than 90,000 followers, so we tend to get some great responses. A recent question regarding pet insurance was incredibly enlightening. We all have insight to share!

Have you met some of our other

 foster dogs?

If you are interested in adoption, you must first fill out an adoption application, which can be found on our website. The application lets us know what you're looking for and if you are approved, we can help determine which one of our dogs may work best for your family.

Our mission
Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue is a non-profit, completely volunteer-driven group dedicated to saving and rehoming Bulldogs
with loving families.

LIVE. LOVE. RESCUE.

Hundreds of Bulldogs are lost, abandoned, taken to animal shelters, or surrendered to rescue every year. Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue accepts Bulldogs whose owners can no longer keep them, and retrieves Bulldogs from shelters and undesirable situations. Our Bulldogs are placed in suitable homes as soon as reasonably possible.
