How is it set?
The innovative gem-setting technique employed by Majestic Art involves a meticulous process where a precise groove is carved into the side of the gem’s pavilion. This careful craftsmanship allows the gem to be expertly slid along rails made of precious metals, which are artfully concealed to enhance the stone's natural beauty. Each gem is individually grooved, a testament to the exceptional attention to detail that defines our artistry. This intricate process not only showcases the unique characteristics of each stone but also elevates the overall aesthetic of the custom jewelry pieces we create, ensuring that every client receives a personalized adornment that tells their unique story.
Is it a safe practice?
The evolution of the invisible setting style in the jewelry industry can be traced back to the 1980s, a period marked by significant technological advancements in diamond cutting and grooving. While these innovations initially made the process easier, they were accompanied by a decline in the quality of craftsmanship, leading to instances where diamonds would fall from their settings, tarnishing the reputation of the invisible setting technique. However, a resurgence occurred in the late 1990s with the introduction of a refined invisible setting method, which revitalized this art form and restored its allure. As a testament to its renewed popularity, it is estimated that sales of invisible setting jewelry have exceeded 15 million pieces over the past three decades, reflecting its significance in contemporary jewelry design.
How many different techniques to set?
Currently invisible setting can be achieved with several different ways including wax, machine and hand pressure. Wax setting is the cheapest and also the weakest of all three. Another drawback of wax setting is that they are not repairable. Machine set on the other hand is costly. Hand pressure set can only be achieved with human touch. Precision is the crucial element in setting by hand pressure. This style however is technically challenging and hardest to learn and excel.
Can it be repaired? How about customer service?
At Majestic Art, we pride ourselves on our unwavering commitment to quality, which is exemplified by our lifetime guarantee of workmanship. Our hand pressure setting technique stands out as both secure and cost-effective, allowing for repairs in the majority of cases, which is a significant advantage over traditional wax or machine settings that often lack repairability. Should a repair not be feasible, we offer a remounting option, ensuring that our clients have a collaborative solution at hand. Rest assured, at Majestic Art, your satisfaction and the long-term quality of your jewelry are our top priorities.
