Greetings!
Welcome! We are so thankful for the opportunity to share our flagship first newsletter with you. Being able to email everyone who has contributed to our fellowship is a dream that is finally coming true!
The purpose of Portage Recovery Association "PRA" is to support & assist 12-step recovery programs. All 12-step programs are welcome! In fact, we are now featuring meetings of AA, NA, Al-Anon, ACOA, and, as of recently, CODA.
Our passion is providing a truly safe space where anyone struggling with addiction can be heard without fear of judgment or ostracism. We promote inclusivity and support for all genders, races and spiritual beliefs, no matter the addiction type. We all have a story. No one individual or group is more important than another - we are all on the journey to sobriety together! We will not judge, and we value anonymity as one of our guiding principles.
We would love for you to contact us via email, social media, or phone to let us know how we can be of service. Feel free to reach out to a board member at any time, as well! Stop in. Drink a cup of coffee. Arrive early. Stay late. Make friends with others who understand both the trial and triumphs of sobriety! We look forward to connecting with all of our brothers and sisters in sobriety!
We offer space to rent at very reasonable rates for public events such as fundraisers and personal events.

Our fellowship club offers a home for people to attend 12-step meetings daily. On the last Saturday of the month, people gather for an anniversary party to celebrate all the recovery birthdays from that month. On Saturdays, our doors open for friends to gather to play pool, grill, eat, fellowship and more prior to the 8 o’clock meetings.
Some of us spend time each day just visiting and sharing our life experiences. We celebrate, we mourn, we laugh, and we cry.
Our addictions stole so much from us. We isolated, lied, stole and felt like our lives had become hopeless. PRA is here to offer that hope. Many of us feel misunderstood in the outside world, but here we find people who have gone through many of the things we have. They understand the bad choices we have made, and can appreciate the strides we are taking to improve our lives, and to make amends to those we have harmed.
It is our goal for the Portage community to know that PRA is available for anyone seeking help with addiction. Groups offer support for people seeking Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Al-Anon, and Overeaters Anonymous. Visit our site, social media pages, and most importantly, the PRA at 5965 McCasland Avenue in Portage, Indiana.
