That Art Place ~ Adult Clay Stein Workshop

Friday, Aug. 29nd - 5:30pm

Make a stunning sunflower shaped chip and dip bowl! Learn how to sculpt flower petals, a large bowl, small dip bowl and texture to imprint realistic detail. All instruction, tools, clay, glazes, and kiln firing included.

Ages 13+ only

After the workshop the pieces will remain at the studio for 3 weeks to be bisque fired, glazed with your choice of glaze, and then kiln-fired a final time. We will send a text when they are ready for pick up.

Central Texas State Fair ~ Twisted Metal Mayhem Demo Derby

This is an EXCITING family event that all ages are guaranteed to enjoy! Twisted Metal Mayhem is the official demolition derby of the Central Texas State Fair. This event is sure to not disappoint - showcasing three different events in FULL SIZE, COMPACT classes and CHAIN GANG. This year see the kids in ACTION with the POWER WHEEL races! This show is the largest indoor demolition derby in Texas, and features drivers from Kansas, Oklahoma as well as throughout the great state of Texas! We will sell you the whole seat – but you will only need the edge!!

Due to the noise levels, it is recommended for small children to wear headphones or earplugs.

That Art Place ~ Adult Wheel Thrown Marble Bowl

August 30th at 2pm

This two-day workshop is perfect for teens or adults wanting to try marbled clay on the pottery wheel. No experience needed! You'll blend white and dark red/brown clays to create a stunning bowl.

August 30 & 31 at 2pm

Day 1 covers centering and throwing

Day 2 focuses on trimming and refining.

Limit 5 students. Class includes instruction, clay, glazes, and 1 finished bowl. Pieces stay at the studio to be fired and glazed, ready for pickup about 3 weeks after class.

That Art Place ~ Adult Intro to Fused Glass Workshop

August 31st - 2pm

In our Introduction to Fused Glass Workshop, you’ll learn the basics of creating your own fused glass art! Our instructor will guide you step-by-step through using glass tools as you design a 6x6 project. A wooden stand or slump is included. No experience needed—just bring your creativity! All supplies and kiln-firing are included. Pre-registration is required. Your project will stay at the studio for firing and will be ready for pickup in about 7 days.
