Annual Founders Event 2022
On Wednesday, October 26th, 2022, SeaKeepers kicked off FLIBS with the Founders Event to recognize the 2022 SeaKeeper of the Year, Nainoa Thompson, NextGen Awardee Lehua Kamalu, and the dedicated group of yacht owners and captains from the DISCOVERY Yacht Fleet who support programming year-round.

SeaKeepers' R/V DISCOVERY
Neuston Net Research Collective
This citizen science movement expands on the S.A.R.A.H. Initiative started in 2019 and engages the yachting community by providing comprehensive onboard kits which allow yacht crews and owners to conduct plankton survey-style transects related to multiple partner research projects. Contact Katie@SeaKeepers.org to participate as a DISCOVERY Yacht.

SeaKeepers assisted Nova Southeastern University in deploying a remotely operated vehicle to learn about fish communities in Fort Lauderdale aboard DISCOVERY Yacht Santosha.

Glacier Geologist Bruce Molnia used precision repeat photography to document the magnitude of glacier and landscape change in Prince William Sound, Alaska, aboard DISCOVERY Yacht Jillian Glenn.
Mola Mola Tagging & Sampling
August 9-15, 2022
SeaKeepers assisted Beneath the Waves in tagging and sampling mola mola in their natural habitat in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, aboard DISCOVERY Yacht Calliope.
Seabed 2030 Project

SeaKeepers partnered with The Nippon Foundation-GEBCO on the Seabed 2030 Project. DISCOVERY Yacht Aqua Blu collected in Southeast Asia.

SeaKeepers partnered with Casa Valentina and Watersports Association in a floating classroom with 20 young adults to learn about Biscayne Bay's marine environment aboard DISCOVERY Vessel River Queen.

SeaKeepers partnered with Wild Wonder in a floating classroom with 17 children and 13 parents to learn about water sampling and the marine environment at Pelican Harbor Marina.

International Coastal Cleanup Day #1
September 17, 2022
SeaKeepers hosted a cleanup at Morningside Park to celebrate ICCD with 63 volunteers that collected 290 pounds of trash from our shorelines and submitted their findings to the Clean Swell App.

SeaKeepers hosted a cleanup in Tres Emes, Mexico, to celebrate ICCD with 230 volunteers that collected over 6,000 pounds of trash from our shorelines and submitted their findings into the Clean Swell App.
Underwater Dive Cleanup

SeaKeepers partnered with SeaExperience in a reef cleanup out of Bahia Mar, Fort Lauderdale. Five volunteers collected over nine pounds of trash and submitted their findings to the Clean Swell App.

SeaKeepers London Event

On Thursday, September 22nd, 2022, SeaKeepers hosted a private cocktail reception ahead of the Monaco Yacht Show. Over 55 guests gathered to celebrate SeaKeepers' partnerships and programming activities in the United Kingdom. We look forward to the official launch of our United Kingdom office in May 2023.
