The Junior SeaKeepers Program
Launch of a New Educational Outreach Program
This October 2021, SeaKeepers started its very own Junior SeaKeepers Program. This program gives students in grades 10 – 12 an opportunity to get hands-on experience with oceanographic research and marine conservation issues. Students will learn about marine science topics from local experts and receive training in conducting scientific research and science communication. The goal of this program is to give young ocean ambassadors the tools to not only understand the problems that face our oceans, but to make a difference on a large scale. STAFF SPOTLIGHT
SeaKeepers is pleased to welcome back a familiar face to our team, Gill Rodrigues, who will be the head of our International Partnerships based in London, England. By strengthening our ties over-seas and collaborating with present and future partners, we hope to continue expanding our reach globally.

As her first action item, Gill attended the United Nation's Climate Change Conference (COP26) on November 1st, 2021. From the collective energy in the room to accelerating the issues on climate change, Gill gave us the opportunity to be a part of a conference that will provide a historic opportunity to improve the state of our oceans.
