What Snoring May Mean for A Senior’s Health

Snoring is a common nighttime occurrence for many people, but it can be quite a nuisance for anyone else nearby. If a senior snores, it could be more than just an annoying disturbance. An underlying health issue may be the cause of chronic snoring, which can affect their sleep patterns, well-being, and overall quality of life.

9 Music Therapy Benefits for Seniors

Numerous therapies can help seniors stay alert, focused, happy, and healthy. Physical therapy, for example, strengthens muscles and increases mobility, while speech therapy targets communication issues. Another popular therapy utilizes the power of music and song to enhance the health and wellness of seniors.

Celebrating Our Hardworking Employees

We are so proud of our wonderful, hard-working employees who go beyond the call of duty. Below is why our Angels are so special...

Mariama K. has been on our Angel team since 2018. She’s an energetic caregiver who is willing to go the extra mile. She’s also proactive; a client pleasantly remarked that she never has to ask Mariama to do anything because Mariama already has it done before being told. Procedurally, she is consistent about submitting the required weekly duty sheets, regularly clocks in and out, and communicates regularly with the office.

Celine I-A. has been one of our live-in Angels since January 2020. Celine has a thoughtful, considerate demeanor and is devoted to providing quality care to clients. Celine has demonstrated flexibility with scheduling for last minute changes, recently working on a scheduled day off. She regularly communicates with the office and turns in weekly duty sheets and other required documents.

We appreciate and thank you, Mariama and Celine!

BEFORE HIPAA

A sweet grandmother telephoned St. Joseph's Hospital. She timidly asked, "Is it possible to speak to someone who can tell me how a patient is doing?"

The operator said, "I'll be glad to help. What's the name and room number of the patient?"

The grandmother in her weak, tremulous voice said, "Norma Smith, Room 302."

The operator replied, "Let me put you on hold while I check with the nurse's station for that room."

After a few minutes, the operator returned to the phone and said, "I have good news. Her nurse just told me that Norma is doing well. Her blood pressure is fine; her blood work just came back normal and her physician, Dr. Jones, has scheduled her to be discharged tomorrow."

The grandmother said, "Thank you. That's wonderful. I was so worried. God bless you for the good news."
The operator replied, "You're more than welcome. Is Norma your daughter?"

The grandmother said, "No, I'm Norma Smith in Room 302. No one tells me anything!"

COVID-19 Vaccines Widely Available
COVID-19 vaccines are now available to everyone aged 12 and older in New Jersey. Pharmacies in stores such as CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, and Rite-Aid are all offering walk-in vaccination opportunities.

It's important to protect yourself, older people, and everyone you come in contact with by getting a COVID-19 vaccine.
