Proximity Park Revitalization
Proximity Park in University City (submarket of Charlotte, NC) is experiencing rapid growth spurred by the opening of Charlotte’s LYNX Blue Line extension. This offers fast and convenient access for employees and residents to reach the growing parts of Charlotte. Originally built in 1973 for Allstate Insurance Company, Proximity Park is undergoing extensive renovations and upgrades by Meyers & Chapman Construction for a construction cost of over $8 million. Designed by Gensler, renovations include a new entrance facade, a new two-story decorative stairwell in lobby, an entryway curtain wall system, steel canopy’s at entryways, all new energy efficient windows, surface parking with the ability to total 1,313 spaces and fresh, new landscaping with a pedestrian walkway. ALPHA will perform spray foam insulation at the interior wall, fireproofing of the existing & new steel and firestopping at the new architectural enhancements.  
New Oklahoma City Skyline Taking Shape
Construction is well underway on the new Omni Oklahoma City Hotel. The $241 million convention center hotel is set to open in early 2021. The 17-story hotel at 100 West Oklahoma City Blvd. will serve the city's downtown area, including the future convention center, Scissortail Park and Chesapeake Energy Arena, home of the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder. The hotel will feature 605 luxurious guest rooms, with 29 suites, seven dining outlets, a pool deck with event space, retail, 78,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space and a Mokara Spa.  ALPHA is installing all the below-grade sheet waterproofing, cementitious waterproofing, fluid applied air and vapor barrier system including flashings, hot applied waterproofing with rigid insulation, traffic coatings, building and site sealants and  water repellents for Brasfield & Gorrie.  ALPHA is also installing all penetration firestopping for Prism Electric, Western States Fire Protection and Streets Mechanical.     
Lackland AFB Construction Revs Up
Caddell Construction has been awarded a $143.5 million contract for construction of the Airman Training Complex Dorm #5 and Dining Classroom Building #3 at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. The training complex dorm will support more than 1,200 people with 280,550 square feet and four stories tall. The first floor of the dining and classroom building, which will be three stories, will have a commercial kitchen and dinning area. The other two floors will have eight classrooms, each with stadium seating for 120 people. That project is planned at 106,500 square feet.  ALPHA will be installing below grade waterproofing, deck coatings, fluid applied air barriers and flashings, interior expansion joints, building and site sealants, spray foam insulation, rigid insulation, spray applied and intumescent fireproofing on the project.
College Boom Continues in Central Florida
University of Central Florida continues to grow it’s $1 billion Creative Village Downtown Orlando Campus. ALPHA is partnering with Brasfield and Gorrie on the $107 million 390-unit apartment complex located within the new development. The apartment building and adjoining parking garage will house new incoming UCF students to the Downtown Orlando area, providing access to the accompanying academic buildings. ALPHA will be performing the waterproofing, expansion joints, caulking, and spray insulation scopes. The apartments are slated to be open in Spring of 2020.
Luxury Community in Scenic North Carolina
The Residences at Shiloh Crossing in Morrisville is a $59 million community that is set to feature 318 Class A units and 5,000 square feet of community space. The design is by Rule Joy Trammell + Rubio with Batson Cook Construction Co. as the general contractor. In addition to luxurious interior finishes, the project aims to obtain a green designation from the National Association of Home Builders. A total of 48 acres was purchased for this project. Only 20 percent will be used for the new construction, with the rest of the land remaining undisturbed. The first units are anticipated to be delivered by the middle of 2020.  ALPHA has been awarded the complete waterproofing scope.
ALPHA had the honor of presenting at the National Fireproofing Contractors Association (NFCA) meeting in Orlando. Dean Whitcomb and Randy Strother discussed two large fireproofing projects ALPHA completed in South Florida
Many members of the ALPHA family participated in the Arun Verma Memorial Tournament held annually in San Antonio and benefits the American Heart Association. The event has raised $222,278 over the past 4 years. Arun is the Founder of Galaxy Builders, Ltd. and the brother of ALPHA Founder Vic Verma.
