Estimating the cost. None of us would do a project without knowing how much the project is going to cost. We might even estimate a higher cost so we are sure to have enough. Jesus tells those following Him that there is a cost to discipleship...to give up all your possessions, family, friends...everything in your life. This isn't a parable or a metaphor...it is Jesus speaking as clearly as He ever does. Is the cost too high?

Mighty and everlasting God, following You demands something of us, but the rewards are overwhelming and abundant. Help us to grow in our willingness to follow. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Rally Day

Sunday, September 11

We're kicking off the program year with our annual Rally Day! Here's what's happening and how you can be involved:

After 9 am worship: grab a treat and a cup of coffee (until 10:20 am) and head to Fellowship Hall kitchen to help prepare the meal for Lazarus House.

After 10:30 am worship: We'll grill Ream's hot dogs, play Diemand football, and have fun on the kids' inflatable!

REVISED Anytime during the month of September: bring washcloths, extra-large bath towels, or single/double packs of wrapped paper towels for those served by Mutual Ground, a GLC Mission Impact Partner. #generouslifeinChrist

Sunday School Registration

For children 3 years-5th grade

Sunday School starts September 18. If you plan on having your child(ren) participate this season, we'd like to ask you to fill out a registration form (you only have to do this once!). By doing so, we can plan for volunteers and supplies accordingly. Thank you!

Are you available during the week in the daytime to visit homebound folks? We will have a meeting at GLC on September 22 at 11:30 am to kick off this ministry that took a hiatus during Covid. Share stories and smiles, offer communion, and grow connections!

GLC FACES OF FAITH

We welcome Mason Daniels who presented himself enthusiastically for baptism last week! Congratulations!

Craig, Joyce, PT, Scott, & Mitzi scraped and painted the ramp railing leading to LOMC's health center. They even had time for a hike to Barbers Cliff and ice cream at Jays Drive In on their way out of town! #generouslifeinChrist

Sunday's rain didn't dampen the fun of our Youth Fall Kickoff—originally scheduled for Wheeler park. We still had a great night with our teens —no rain gear needed!
