It is with mixed emotions I write this letter to say goodbye. Many of you know that I am moving to Kenya to work as the Child Safety Coordinator for Rift Valley Academy.
It has been an honour to work with Plan to Protect

the past six and a half years and to get to know many of you personally. I have learned so much and loved working with this small but mighty team of hardworking, loyal, caring staff. Words cannot express how thankful I am to have such great friends. In the words of Winnie the Pooh: “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”
I first came to Plan to Protect
®
as the Director of Training with the hope that I might inspire people through training to fight diligently for protection. In many trainings, I’ve repeated the Dr. Seuss quote, “unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” I leave inspired by the passion and dedication of organizations, churches and individuals like you who are committed to preventing abuse and protecting those who are vulnerable. I still believe it is only if we care a whole awful lot, that anything will change for the better. Together we are defined by a desire to be the change we wish to see in the world and I honestly believe we are doing that. We can’t stop though – there is more to be done.
I encourage you to take a look at the upcoming training opportunities (listed below) so that we can continue to raise the bar on protection. For “education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” (Nelson Mandela)
With love and gratitude,
Tori Bissell
