David Palmer began experimenting with seated massage in 1982 as a way of developing stable income streams for graduates from his school of Japanese massage in               San Francisco. His massage business was the first ever featured on the front page of the Wall Street Journal. He developed the first massage chair in 1986 and is the recipient of the AMTA's National President's Award. Palmer has authored many articles and maintains an active blog on chair massage and other industry issues.
