You may or may not have noticed a new, clean, Presbytery of Arkansas logo floating around over the past few months. The Presbytery staff is now getting in the habit of noticing places where our logo has not been updated yet. Sometimes those places are on your church websites.
Contact Julie Price to get both the vertical (pictured left) and the horizontal versions to update your church information. Also, please let us know if you see our old logo floating around out there somewhere. The internet is pretty infinite and there is much work to do. Thanks!

Congratulations Jocelyn and Grant Wildwright
|
Yes, you read that correctly.
Jocelyn Wildhack of Ferncliff fame and Grant Wright of 2nd Presbyterian, Little Rock fame, were united in marriage on Friday, October 7. They are now Jocelyn and Grant Wildwright. It seems that Wildhack + Wright = Wildwright!
The Presbytery of Arkansas wishes the two of them many years of blessed matrimony and ministry.

Big Ideas For Parenting Youth

On Wednesday, October 19, from 8:00am until 2:00pm central time, a number of Presbyterian churches and schools around the country will be sponsoring a free online workshop for parents of youth. You might recognize some of the presenters like Sybil Macbeth, author of the Praying in Color series and our own Sarah Leer who will be presenting with Bruce Reyes-Chow, former moderator of the General Assembly of the PC(USA).

Last weekend 84 students, chaperones, college leader corps, and adult leadership gathered at Ferncliff for a beautiful weekend of connection with God and each other. We looked at Mattew 25 through the lens of "When did we see you?" and heard the invitation to see God, ourselves, and our neighbor through God's eyes.
Thanks to all the adults and college students who volunteered in small groups, rec, worship, and medical! Retreats like this are only possible with your incredible support! Also, thanks to the Ferncliff staff for hosting us so well, and especially to Ruth Amenson and Jocelyn Wildwright for going above and beyond!

Evangelism Workshop Recording
|
On Monday, October 17, dozens of people gathered both in-person at First Rogers and online to hear our friend, the Rev. Jason Tucker, talk about the opportunities we have in our churches right now to do some amazing evangelism. Even better, he shared ideas on what that might look like.
If you missed the workshop or if you want to share it with your session or evangelism committee, it has been uploaded to our Presbytery's youtube page and posted on our website's homepage. Or, simply because you are reading this, you can click right here and access it now.

Advent is now a little over five weeks away. Two weeks ago the Presbytery hosted an Advent Roundtable where ideas were conceived, shared, and grown about what Advent 2022 might look like in worship, fellowship, outreach, and service in our congregations. You can click here to watch the hour long discussion.
You can click here to check out the Advent/Christmas page on Ministry Resources which contains studies and resources for all areas of Advent planning.

The Church moving forward post pandemic
|
Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, the Rev. Dr. J. Herbert Nelson, II has been calling on congregations across the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) to be innovative and creative in how they minister in their communities.
But the Stated Clerk of the General Assembly of the PC(USA) also believes it will take more than technology to reach people in need. Click the graphic to listen as Nelson shares his thoughts on taking the church out of the buildings and into the neighborhoods, a 3 1/2 minute video.
