Nominations for all Presbytery Committees, elected positions (Moderator, Vice-Moderator), as well as GA and Synod commissioners for future assemblies are now open. Nominations forms may be found on the presbytery website under Resources/Presbytery Documents/Nominations (at the bottom of the page) or by clicking here.
Nomination forms may be sent to Kim in the presbytery office (kim@presbyark.org) or Robert Lowry (Westover Hills, LR) committee moderator at robertwilliamlowry@gmail.com. The committee will begin its work in mid-summer so please send nominations sooner rather than later. It takes all hands on deck to keep the presbytery running smoothly. We are grateful for everyone's input and energy!

Now Kristi has agreed to share her years of experience and learning as she will lead two online opportunities to help others experience the Spirituality of Baking Bread. One class will be on a Saturday morning and the other on a Thursday evening and each will be different. You can sign up for just one workshop or take them both.

Two Important Messages From Your Stated Clerk
|
The 2023-2025 Book of Order will be coming out very soon and contains some important updates. The answer to the biennial question, “Did enough change to warrant buying a new Book of Order?” The answer this time is “yes.” The Rules for Discipline have been replaced in their entirety with a section called Church Discipline. There are numerous new requirements for inquirers, candidates, CREs, Certified Christian Educators, Associate Christian Educators, and Sessions. New policies are required for all councils (session, presbytery, synod, and General Assembly) of the church which you will want to be aware of and informed about. You can preorder a copy of the 2023-2025 Book of Order by clicking on the link Preorder Book of Order The cost for the Book of Order is $10, but there is a discount for ordering in bulk. If you would prefer to download the Book of Order you do so by clicking on this link Downloadable Book of Order 2023-2025. More information will be coming pertaining to the new required policies.

A new version of the Church Leadership Connection (CLC) has been rolled out. There have been some changes to the process, and the new system will allow for some fine tuning as feedback is offered. For those individuals who currently have a PIF in the CLC system, that PIF will only be active until the first of August. If you intend to be searching beyond that date, you will need to fill out a Personal Discernment Profile (PDP), the new version of a PIF. The PIF will not roll over to the new system. You must create a new account and create your PDP. (Click here for a blank form as a pdf.) If you are a church and have a MIF in the CLC system, and you do not expect to extend a call to someone before the first of August, you will need to fill out a Ministry Discernment Profile (MDP). Hopefully, for those of you who this affects, this is not the first time you are hearing this. If you need help locating the videos, or knowing how to create a PDP or MDP, feel free to reach out to me.

On June 13 and 16, Presbyterian baseball fans got together at NWA Naturals and central AR Travelers games for two nights of fun! In NWA, those with "the gift", joined the choir to sing the National Anthem (right). In Little Rock, dinner and fireworks were an added bonus.

Pulaski County Volunteers Needed
Long-Term Recovery from March 31 Tornado
|
Before long, Pulaski County faith-based and other nonprofit groups will begin to focus on long-term recovery for many of the homeowners whose properties were destroyed by the March 31 tornado. Some Presbyterian money will be added to contributions from community individuals and organizations so that collectively we can help some storm survivors meet their unmet needs.
The Wynne community will be involved in its own long-term recovery and a couple of Wynne Presbyterians have stepped up to serve on a Wynne long-term recovery group when the time comes.
