With every painting, I work to create something never seen before, something with enough complexity and interaction that it remains alive and engaging each time you look at it.
I am a coastal Carolina artist best known for large scale, non-objective paintings and abstracted landscapes, objects and figures.
Working in watercolor, acrylics and oil, I rely simply on painterly technique (not necessarily with a brush) and a fresh approach to color.
My training as an architect adds design training and concern for the physicality of each piece. I participate in and support many local art groups, including Waterway Art Association, Seacoast Artists Guild and The Associated Artists of Southport. I have served as president of W AA and now lead a community art group in my neighborhood.
A 2014 recipient of a North Carolina Regional Artist Project Grant, I've studied with Jef Sturm, Joe DiGiulio and Ginny Lassiter. My painting, "Seneca Guns," won first place in the Spring 2018 Seacoast Artists Guild show.
