Dear AAGP Member,
We are seeking donations for the 2022 Scholars Program, which will fund medical students and residents to attend our next Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida.
We have received 55 applications for the 2022 program. Our goal is to fund all qualified applicants to come to the AAGP 2022 Annual Meeting to learn about the field of geriatric psychiatry through a variety of small group, career panel and mentoring experiences.
AAGP Members provide the overwhelming majority of funding to the Scholars Program, and the amount of money we receive in donations directly influences the number of Scholars we are able to invite.
In a recent survey of former Scholars Program (2010-2016) participants:
- 83% have become members of the AAGP
- 75% have pursued geriatric psychiatry fellowships
- 67% are either certified in geriatric psychiatry or plan to become certified in geriatric psychiatry
