Night with the Novas Success
Milwaukee Academy of Science supporters gathered at Discovery World on Friday, November 5th to raise funds for the expansion of the school. Thanks to our guests' generosity, we raised a record-breaking $166,000 at our event this year...and counting.

With the addition of 20,000 sq ft in the middle and high school, MAS added almost 100 additional students this fall and will continue to add next year. Phase 2 of the gymnasium expansion and fundraising for the $5M project continues through Spring of 2022.
Awardees Steve Richman of Milwaukee Tool and Tim Sheehy of MMAC with CEO Anthony McHenry

DeQuan Shannon, a recent graduate of MAS and current student at Marquette University on full scholarship shared the challenges of growing up in Milwaukee and how he overcame the odds at MAS.

DeQuan reminds us that there are many possible outcomes in life and schools are the social safety net that many students rely on to find success.

Milwaukee Tool Partnership
Exposes MAS Students to the Trades
Businesses like Milwaukee Tool are looking to MAS for future talent due to shortages currently in the industry--from the trades to engineering to advanced manufacturing. Additionally, the industry needs better representation of women and people of color.

MAS 8th graders, Aaron Hankes and Sariah Mamon, who have attended the school since K4, explain why they like our new handtools & woodworking class with partner Milwaukee Tool. See the Spectrum News video/article below.

This introduction in middle school is meant to spark an interest, build confidence, and eventually pay off as students have more extensive trades offerings available in high school. Milwaukee Tool and MAS will partner over the next several years to strengthen the trades talent pipeline by growing talent right here.

MAS Senior Earns Division 1 Athletic Scholarship ✍️
Milwaukee Academy of Science is a school that provides the academic opportunity for our student-athletes to have opportunities to play college athletics. Senior Nakiyah Hurst signed on with the University of North Dakota and is one of just a handful of D1 athletes in the city of Milwaukee to do so this year.
🏈Football Season Recap 🏈
We are proud to have an undefeated team record! With 24 of the 31 athletes being underclassmen, we are very proud of our victories. Exciting, especially when we think of the future of the program!

Many donors helped launch this team over the summer with funding raised at our 8th Annual Nova Nation Golf Classic.

And we got more great news this fall.....
