McLaren Loves Lansing

Thank you to everyone who supported McLaren Loves Lansing on Friday, August 15 at Lansing Brewing Company.

We raised over $48,000 for McLaren Greater Lansing Foundation. These funds provide programs, services and equipment that help provide world-class healthcare right here in our community.

We appreciate all the local vendors who helped make this night a success.

Thank you for helping us show our community how much McLaren Loves Lansing!

Sincerely,

Dr. Chip and Katie Taunt

Donor Spotlight

The Huntington National Bank

We were grateful to receive a grant from Huntington National Bank in support of the expanded Food and Resource Center.

On Wednesday, August 20 we celebrated with a check presentation.

Huntington’s commitment to strengthening communities aligns with our mission, and we’re proud to partner to help patients at McLaren Greater Lansing get

the nutritional support they need.

Interested in supporting the Food and Resource Center with a donation?

Wish list items include canned food, including soup, chicken and tuna packets, pudding/Jello, dry cereal, macaroni and cheese, Ramon noodles and personal care items, specifically laundry detergent and shampoo/conditioner. Gift card donations to Meijer, Kroger, Aldi, Trader Joe's or Whole Foods to purchase food are a great way to support.

To arrange a drop off of food items to the Foundation office, email mglfoundation@mclaren.org or call 517-975-7100.

Donations can also be made directly by visiting Donate | MGL Foundation.

Zen Room

The McLaren Greater Lansing ICU nurses have a new, calming space to enjoy during a challenging workday, thanks to the Women's Giving Circle, ICU nurse Tasinda Risdale, RN, and a generous donation from Lyn Donaldson Zynda.

Tasinda, proposed the idea to the Women’s Giving Circle because she "wanted to create a space where nurses could relax after a very stressful time, where they could unplug, chill out and just experience calm. It had to be more than just a closet." After Lyn offered to fund the project, Tasinda purchased the materials and created a truly relaxing space where staff can enjoy a quiet, peaceful break from the ICU and decompress. She noted "It was a team effort because I had people helping me, and I’m very proud of it. The staff love it."

Oncology Care Packages

Thanks to the generosity of our Women's Giving Circle and the Meijer Capital City Market, new patients receiving care at Karmanos Cancer Institute at McLaren Greater Lansing are provided a care package to help ease the burden during treatment. Packages include items such as lip balm, warm socks, puzzle books, water bottles and mints. At the voting meeting in December our Women's Giving Circle generously supported this special project and the Capital City Market recently donated gift cards for items needed in the care packages.

Thank you to the Capital City Market who is committed to enriching lives in the communities they serve throughout Lansing.
