End of Year Giving

Happy Holidays! Thank you for supporting McLaren Greater Lansing Foundation in 2024.

As we move into the new year, the Foundation will place a strong focus on health access in our community, as we continue to support needs within the walls of the hospital.

We would be honored for you to consider making an end of year gift to McLaren Greater Lansing Foundation. Your generosity will help us expand access to healthcare, enhance patient and family support programs, invest in healthcare education and workforce development, and drive healthcare innovation and research.

A monthly gift can also greatly support our mission by funding ongoing needs such as food pantry shelf stable items, gas cards, books for our youngest patients to take-home or special fleece blankets.

In addition to the impact you have on McLaren Greater Lansing, your annual donation of $100 or more will make you member of our Cornerstone Club receiving recognition on our donor wall in the hospital.

Please visit www.mclarenloveslansing.org/donate to make your gift.

Thank you!

We want to say thank you to cousins, Pam Harden and Marta Olofsson! They decided to team up and generously pay for a bench for the family medicine clinic. Patients at the clinic did not have a convenient place to sit while waiting for a ride after their appointments. Thank you Pam and Marta for supporting our community.

Cocktails for a Cause

Cocktails for a Cause on Thursday, November 7 raised over $30,000 for Levi’s Link at McLaren Greater Lansing!

Levi's Link is a program established to improve the hospital experience of patients with special needs who may be stressed by the normal activity that occurs during a hospital visit. The program allows for individualized patient care based on our intake information gathered during our Pre-Admission Testing assessment and includes a Levi’s Link icon to identify patients to the entire healthcare team, reduced exposure to noise and bright lights, social stories describing and illustrating the patient's surgical experience and education and hands-on activities with iPads and interactive toys.

We were pleased to have the participation of so many local establishments and appreciate all the creativity and hard work they each put into their cocktails and table displays.

Giving Tuesday

On Giving Tuesday, December 3 we were excited to highlight a McLaren Greater Lansing employee driven program, For the Love of Blankets. This initiative started by a nurse, Christina Zimmerman at McLaren Greater Lansing hospital in 2022 provides take-home blankets to hospital inpatients. A blanket is not only a practical need, but a symbol of warmth and friendship. This simple but special gesture provided by caregivers at McLaren Greater Lansing hospital increases our patients' overall comfort.

For the Love of Blankets provides a high-quality fleece style blanket and thanks to the support of our donors helped expand the program throughout the hospital assisting with the purchase of these blankets to ensure that any inpatient who needs one can receive one.

When patients are no longer cold, they can focus on healing, resting and their overall wellness.

Women's Giving Circle

Our Women's Giving Circle met earlier this month to collectively decide what services their funding raised this year would support. Thanks to this group's generosity they were able to help Graduate Medical Education, the ICU, our Family Medicine Clinic and Karmanos Cancer Institute. Thank you to host and member Lyn Donaldson Zynda and all of members who support McLaren Greater Lansing Foundation.

Want to learn more about the Women's Giving Circle? Visit www.mclarenloveslansing.org/wgc

The Women’s Giving Circle (WGC) is made up of dedicated and compassionate women who strongly believe in providing the best possible healthcare for our community. WGC donors will come together four times a year to network and inspire each other with one dedicated meeting to vote on how their collective funding will be used to support the needs of McLaren Greater Lansing, an incredibly important initiative.

Lock Bags from Eaton RESA

Thanks to the support of Eaton RESA we received a generous donation of medicine lock bags along with information about keeping families safe for patients to take home. We were able to provide these to the Emergency Department, Karmanos Cancer Institute and other departments throughout the hospital.
