Thank you for your support!

Your support, whether through monetary contributions, time, or talent, serves to honor this community and our caregivers. We want to take a moment to express our gratitude and share the impact our donors have right here in Greater Lansing. We are dedicated to making sure every person – our friends, families and neighbors – has access to world-class health care options right here in our hometown. McLaren Loves Lansing and always will.

Because of your generosity the McLaren Greater Lansing Foundation was able to support the following hospital programs and services during fiscal year 2024 (October 1, 2023 - September 30, 2024). We are so thankful each and every time we can award a grant because of your support.

Support Foundation Special Events!

McLaren Greater Lansing Foundation's special events have continued to positively impact patients and caregivers at McLaren Greater Lansing. As we move into the new year the Foundation will place a strong focus on health access in our community as we continue to support needs within the walls of the hospital.

Your ongoing support will help us in this effort, and we appreciate the consideration in supporting these special events.

Book Nooks

With the help of local donations and community partnerships, we are making it easier for families with young children when they visit the hospital and doctors’ offices when needing care with the newest installment of book nooks and child-friendly furniture.

With the idea of providing book material that primarily focuses on health-related topics and emotions for young children who may need a little comfort and distraction when in a hospital or doctors’ office setting, we partnered with Ingham Intermediate School District (Ingham ISD) to help bring this idea to fruition.

This new project allows for three book nook locations installed in key locations throughout the McLaren Greater Lansing health care system – the emergency room waiting area, the Multi-Specialty Clinic, and the Family Medicine Clinic. Research has found that reading helps students develop communication and language skills and can help strengthen memory, concentration, and problem-solving skills, among other benefits.

Donations from Pace-Howe Design and NBS Commercial Interiors helped fund the project to provide furniture including tables, chairs, and shelving units – all thoughtfully chosen to make the spaces feel welcoming.

Check out the Good Neighbor Segment and article about this exciting project.

A ribbon cutting for the project was held on January 23.

Future DOcs

We were pleased to help support the Future DOcs program again thanks to MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine and our Graduate Medical Education program here at MGL. The Foundation supplied breakfast, but the real heroes are all the faculty who helped guide these future Doctors!

The Future DOcs program exposes high school students interested in pursuing a career as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or Physician Assistant to osteopathic manipulative medicine, CPR, first aid, anatomy, biochemistry, clinical skills and leadership

Donor Spotlight

With the development of the Grand Ledge Emergency Department and ambulatory care campus underway in Delta Township, McLaren Greater Lansing is expanding its ability to provide extraordinary care to our community.

To support the new project, the Foundation recently established the Grand Ledge Community Health Fund. The fund will help bolster the development of the new freestanding ED and medical facility through major financial gifts from community leaders.

We are grateful to local business leaders Dave Mohnke and Ed MacKenzie who have become the founding leaders of the fund and made significant financial contributions to support the new facility.

When asked why he contributed to the project, Mohnke explained that he has been hoping to get an ER facility in Grand Ledge for several years. He believes it will be a “benefit to all in the community” and stated, “I think it’s going to be great for businesses and employees to have this right next door. If someone gets hurt, they can just pop down to Nixon Road. It really is needed.”
