Foundation Funded

Cardiac Surgical Unit Advanced Life Support Training

Cardiac surgery patients are most vulnerable immediately after surgery. The post-care they receive in the first 48-90 hours after surgery is vital to their long-term recovery. The Foundation was able to fund on-site advanced training for 18 McLaren Greater Lansing Cardiothoracic Surgery Intensive Care Unit team members. This training makes our team stronger and better equipped to handle post-surgery cardiac arrest situations.

The Cardiac Surgical Unit Advanced Life Support Training (CSU-ALS) prepares team members in the management of cardiac arrest using evidence-based protocols specific to resuscitation. This is a team-based training that equips all team members, regardless of discipline, with the knowledge, skills and situational awareness to support lifesaving procedures effectively.

In 2025, MGL had 130 open heart surgeries. This training helps us continue to build our program and ensure we are continuing to deliver the highest quality patient care.

Jack Breslin Golf Classic

Golf for good! Join us at the Jack Breslin Golf Classic on Wednesday, May 20.
