Thank you to McLaren Greater Lansing Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Linda Peterson for her donation to the For the Love of Blankets Program at McLaren Greater Lansing.

Dr. Peterson donated blankets to our Behavioral Health Unit.

For the Love of Blankets was founded in 2002 by a McLaren RN of over 20 years, Christina Zimmerman. During her time as an RN, Christina discovered that patients often struggled staying warm during their stays. Seeing the need for a little comfort and warmth, Christina decided to found For the Love of Blankets: an initiative that provides blankets for patients at local area hospitals.

For the Love of Blanket’s mission is to spread warmth and comfort throughout the hospital. When patients are no longer cold, they can focus on healing, resting, and their overall wellness.

A $20 donation provides a cozy blanket for a patient.

Our Cardiac Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab) recently applied for and received a grant thanks the Foundation's Bright Ideas Mini Grant Program.

These are smaller grant requests that make a big impact on patient care by teaching and/or enhancing patient comfort and/or experience.

Bright Ideas Mini Grants are funded thanks to our MGL employee givers and Foundation and volunteer events.
