Walgreens Closes at Millberry Union--Parnassus
In the spring of 2024, UCSF Health outpatient pharmacy will be opening in the Millberry Union, at the site currently occupied by Walgreens. Walgreens at Parnassus is closing their operations on 12/14/23. Starting 12/12/23 the UCSF Specialty pharmacy will be filling a limited number of discharge medications for high risk patients as UCSF makes every effort to ensure the transition for patients with specialized medications. UCSF will begin to adapt the space and apply for CA Board of Pharmacy license, a process that can take a few months. If a patient is interested in having their discharge prescriptions delivered to bedside, they will need to be evaluated by the Meds to Beds pharmacy team to evaluate and enroll the patients in Meds to Beds program. if there is a potential Meds to Beds patient, providers can contact the Pharmacy using Voalte.

Demolition of Langley Porter--through February 2024
Beginning November 27, 2023 demolition began of the former LPPH building which serves as the site for our new hospital. In August, we opened LPPH’s new home at UCSF Medical Center at Mount Zion.
The demolition will continue through February 2024 and will create noise, dust, and vibration. We are doing everything we can to mitigate the impacts to you, our patients, and their families, including using a special “muncher” to take bites out of the building (rather than a wrecking ball, for example), increasing the monitoring of our air intake and filter changing, and spraying water on the rubble to reduce dust.

Text Imposters
IT Security has received reports of staff receiving text messages impersonating UCSF leadership, asking the recipient to buy gift cards. This common scam attempts to take advantage of the holiday season when requests for gift card purchases are more common. Anyone receiving suspicious texts is asked to file a report with the IT Service Desk and include a screenshot of the message with the phone number.
