The Seacoast Moderns have banded together once again to create a truly unique and unified exhibit of contemporary art this Seacoast has never seen before, and likely never will again!   
If you love Modern Art with a Down-Home, Home-Grown flair, this is one show you really don't want to miss.

Exhibit Dates:  October 12th to November 5th  
Opening Reception:  Sunday, October 15th, 4 to 6 PM

This is it, everybody!  The long-awaited En Plein Air All-Member Show is about to shine on the KAA Gallery!   
This exhibit is open to ALL KAA MEMBERS, and we look forward to "seeing the seacoast" through your eyes...the artists' eyes!
Many thanks to all the fine folks who so graciously allowed the KAA Plein Air painters access to their properties to paint or photograph in their gorgeous locations!  We're so very grateful for your generosity.

It's time to be thinking about next year's shows
Here's a basic outline of the exhibit line-up we're working on for 2018:     
  6 to 8 All-Member Shows... dates and themes to be decided.
  Group Shows... application form is on the KAA website.   Deadline for  
  submitting requests for group shows is November 1, 2017. 
  Spotlight Wall... contact Alice Timmins at  
  with your name and preferred season.  Spotlight Wall will be determined
  by number of applicants, so definitely apply early!

KAA membership cards include a 20% discount at two local framing shops, D. Pratt Framer, LLC in Kittery, and C.C. Moore Fine Art Framing in Portsmouth.  What a deal!

When you receive a mailing from KAA, check the mailing address.  Your membership is current through the indicated calendar year.  So, if the address includes "#2017" then you are current through December 2017.

Opportunities to Exhibit in the Neighborhood

Video Contest:  Raise $10,000 for a Local Land Trust

What does
land mean to you?  The Lan d Trust Alliance - a group based in Washington, D.C., that represents more than 1,700 land trusts acr oss the country from Maine to Alaska - is launching a video contest this summer as king participants to capture what land means to them in a short 2-minute long video.

Winners can win up to $2,000, and also have the chance to donate $10,000 to their local land trust of choice.

The Mount Agamenticus to the Sea Conservation Initiative (MtA2C) would like to get in on the fun too!  If contestants submit a video to the Land Trust Alliance filmed within the MtA2C focus area, they can send their video to MtA2C ( to enter a raffle to win a $200 gift certificate to Kittery Trading Post.

The MtA2C focus area includes land and coastline within the towns of Kittery, Eliot, Ogunquit, South Berwick, Wells and York. MtA2C works directly with Kittery Land Trust, as well as Great Works Regional Land Trust and York Land Trust.

Submissions will be accepted from Sept. 1 to Sept. 30, 2017.  A full list of contest rules can be found on the Land Trust Alliance website.

NHAA has a Plein Air group, which meets on Wednesday mornings, about 8:30 to 9:00 am, and it's always free (unless there is a state park fee) and always open to non NHAA members.
