KAA Sparkles!
Thank You to All who Participated in the KAA Clean-Up Day
Wowza! Our Gallery looks absolutely STUNNING thanks to the tireless efforts of volunteers who took our Gallery from Grimy to Gorgeous!
Eager workers spent 4 hrs washing, filling holes, painting and cleaning out the cellar...at least 6 trips to the dump!! The space is sparkling thanks to all their hard work and lots of elbow grease....and a few artistic antics!
WE were 15 strong:
Board members Dean, Dianne, Betsy, Julia, BJ, Alice and Deborah plus members Jim, Aimee, Ken, Fritz, Mary, Jean, Susan and Bob. And as you can see from the photos above, we had an amazingly fun and productive day. A great big

Fun Times at Brave Boat Headwaters and KAA
Where we connected Outdoor Fun with Art & Creativity!
What a great family-friendly event we had at The Kittery Land Trust Hike at Brave Boat Headwaters on Saturday, Feb 4th!
And EVEN MORE FUN was had the following day as we gathered at the KAA Gallery for delicious hot chocolate and yummy cookies...oh, and we also made some pretty cool little accordion books of animal tracks!
KAA is looking forward to doing more activities in conjunction with KLT that are art related, so keep checking our

Volunteer Opportunities at KAA
Share your Skills and Expertise
We're currently
looking
for volunteers who want to share their knowledge and expertise with other KAA members and possibly propose a program to run at the Kittery Art Association.
Suggestions could include
:
Photography: How to Make an Outstanding Online Photo Book; Tricks for Taking Top-Notch Photos with your iPhone, etc.
Writing: The Joys of Journaling; Penning Poignant Poetry, etc.
Art: Keeping it Simple with Watercolors, Mixed Media Collage, Stenciling, etc.
Questions/Suggestions from potential volunteers can be emailed to our program coordinator, BJ Glanville at [email protected]

First Fridays Open Stage
Fri., March 3rd, 7:00 to 8:30 PM
$5 suggested donation
This fantastic event takes place at Kittery Art Association on the
first Friday of every month and will run through May 2017.
Students are encouraged to sing, play guitar, piano or any instrument of their choice, perform a skit, juggle, do standup comedy, mime, anything goes on our stage!
We provide a sound system, electric piano, guitar and bass amps, snacks and beverages. No need to sign up in advance or call.

Beach Pea Baking Co. Exhibit
We want to thank Todd Bonita for helping select artwork submitted by members of the KAA to be on exhibit at the Beach Pea Baking Co. Feb. 1 thru May 1.
The artists whose work will not be exhibited this time around, will be in the next round, since we had so many wonderful pieces (some of which were quite large) for the walls at the Beach Pea. Thank you to all who participated thus far!
Are you also interested in having your artwork displayed at this totally cool and hip little establishment right here in Kittery?

KAA Membership
KAA membership cards include a 20% discount at two local framing shops, D. Pratt Framer, LLC in Kittery, and C.C. Moore Fine Art Framing in Portsmouth. What a deal!
When you receive a mailing from KAA, check the mailing address. Your membership is current through the indicated calendar year. So, if the address includes "#2017" then you are current through December 2017.

The Kittery Art Association, a charitable organization incorporated by the state of Maine, sponsors a variety of public events in support of local artists and writers of all ages.
Membership is $35 and expires each January.
Membership applications for 2017 are available on our website, or feel free to pick one up at the KAA Gallery located at 8 Coleman Ave., Kittery Point, ME. We look forward to hearing from you, and thank you for supporting the Arts!
