by the artists of the SEACOAST MODERNS
Now through October 7 - DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW!
The artists of the Seacoast Moderns present their new and exciting art show, "Moderns in Process", opening on September 13th and on display until October 7th. Come see how each artist went about their creative process using the prompts: Referencing, Researching, Responding, and Recollecting. Also on display will be additional artwork that includes artist descriptions of their process providing interesting insight into the mind of each artist.
And - there's a wall of artwork which will be raffled off to some very lucky winners. Come in, take a look, get your raffle ticket....

All summer long, the intrepid artists of the KAA who like to paint, photograph and draw in the great outdoors have gathered in a variety of locations on Thursday afternoons. Plein air aficionados such as these brave heat, humidity, fog, drizzle, wind and mosquitoes to capture whatever their surroundings present, in the immediacy of the environment. So come see what happens when we take it outside!

Next up in music....
Prize-winning International Guitarist to Perform at Kittery Art Association
Japanese-born musician Hiroya Tsukamoto, who just took second place in the International Finger Style Guitar Championshiop, will be performing at the Kittery Art Association on
Friday, October 26, 2018
starting at 7:00 pm.
Described as "cinematic guitar poetry", Tsukamoto's show is a "mixture of guitar songs, vocal songs (Japanese folk music and originals) and poetry with audience participation."
$15 in advance, $20 at the door.

Monday Figure Drawing
Join us on Mondays at the KAA for our Figure Drawing sessions!
Cost remains at an affordable $10, or if too few people, fee is split among artists.
As always, please bring your choice of medium. Bring an easel if you need one. Chairs and drop cloths are provided.

Stop the grumbling! The
Sarah Mildred Long Bridge was late, but it's here...and every time it saves you a few minutes getting from here to there, you should celebrate its completion!
With that in mind--in cooperation with the Visual Arts Committee at the Kittery Community Center--KAA member Bill Moore is helping to organize a night to honor the demise of the old Sarah Mildred Long Bridge and the arrival of the new structure with a special presentation in the STAR Theatre and an art show in the Morgan Gallery starting at 6 PM on Wednesday, January 9, 2019.
This event is open to the public, and you're invited! And if you happen to have a photo or a painting of the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge you'd like to share, Bill would be happy to consider it.
We know this event is a long way off at this point, but much time is needed in order to carefully consider each photo and/or artwork submitted.
In any case, if you're interested in having your photos or artwork included in this special presentation, please contact Bill Moore at [email protected]. Do it now!

The Kittery Art Association, a charitable organization incorporated by the state of Maine, sponsors a variety of public events in support of local artists and writers of all ages.
