Eccentricity

Through April 28

We'll say it again - wow.  The boundless creativity of our artists bursts forth as exuberantly as the crocuses and forsythia, in this exhibit full of energy, color, wide spectrum of media and, well....eccentricity!

We are so thrilled to honor the life and work of our late friend and KAA member Tim Beavis, whose works are lighting up the Spotlight wall during this show.

If you haven't been in yet, grab a friend or two and come on out.  You definitely do not want to miss this one.

Artist and Purchase Pick-up:    Monday, Monday, April 29, 4-6pm

During the eleven days of our 6x6 FUNraiser to help pay for our new roof (keep reading for more details),
your board and staff members will exhibit a selection of their art.

"If art doesn't make us better,
then what on earth is it for? "

6x6 FUNraiser!!

Part I -- Call to Artists

By now, you've seen our pleas for all member artists and friends to donate up to three 6" x 6" works of art to the KAA on April 29, to help pay for our BRAND NEW ROOF which was sorely needed.

Next time you come out to 8 Coleman Ave, look up!  It's beautiful, and it's intact -- no more shingles flying off, no more worries about when it will start leaking.

But now it's time to pay the piper...well, the roofer.  So we do need those 6x6 works to pour into the gallery.  Please let  Anne Morgan know how many we can count on from you.  And thank you!

Part II - Call to Patrons, Friends, Collectors, Supporters,  and, well -- Everybody!

Starting May 2, we're going to have a massive SALE of all of these 6x6 gems.  Every single one will be priced at $36, and we're going to try to send them all off to good homes.  Think of them as representatives of the shingles of our new roof - it takes a lot of these individual pieces to keep our building secure and dry.  There will be a fabulous OPENING RECEPTION on FRIDAY, MAY 3 where we can get together, view, buy, discuss and admire these wee masterpieces, and our goal is to see how many we can sell within a scant 10 days.  Bring your friends.  Bring your in-laws.  Think about gifts - for yourself!  For others.

One more note about this 6x6 event:  our good friend David Pratt is supporting our fundraiser by making up a bunch of 6x6 and 7x7 frames, which are available for $10 and $12, respectively.  These are for sale now at the gallery and at D. Pratt Framer, 50 State Road, Kittery , exclusively for the works being donated to this KAA FUNraiser.   Additionally, D. Pratt Framer will generously provide free glass and backing for any of these frames being used for your donated art.

Thank you, David!

Kittery Estates is looking for artists!

We received a call from Annie Stone, who is in charge of art programs as Kittery Estates, an independent retirement living residence in Kittery.  They have ongoing monthly art shows there, from the first through the last Sunday of every month, and wonder   if there would be any KAA artists interested in showing there (they collect no commission). Also, Kittery Estates is looking for artists interested in running any on-site workshops for residents in different media (paid, plus all supplies provided).  To find out more, email  deborah.stone@holidaytouch.com   or call her cell: 207-468-0541.
