The Dorje Ling Dharma Book Study Group

Is excited to present our new reading selection for

Winter 2026, beginning January 13

Dorje Ling Dharma Book Study began over 25 years ago!

Participant Comments

Discussing dharma books with a group of people who have different backgrounds and levels of experience opens the experience of exploring ideas to more angles of vision. I love when people notice important details I didn’t pay much attention to, ask questions I hadn’t thought of, and understand ideas differently than I did." -Beverly

"Small breakout groups, where we take turns addressing a prompt related to the reading, or to discuss how we are integrating the teachings into our lives, are a great way to warm up and feel the friendliness of the environment before entering the whole group discussion.” -Dennis

"Participating in the Dorje Ling Book Study group has been a richly expansive experience. We explore a wide range of Buddhist books—from practical meditation guides to ancient texts illuminated by modern masters, to inspiring biographies of great practitioners. Revisiting books I once read long ago as well as discovering new ones brings both reflection and fresh insight, a sense of returning and unfolding at the same time. Equally meaningful is the joy of meeting new people, getting to know longtime Dharma friends more deeply, and sharing perspectives that I would never encounter reading alone. The teachings feel more alive, more spacious, when explored in community." -Carolyn

Photos: Vajrakilaya Retreat

November 2025

Tashi Choling held another successful Vajrakilaya retreat, supported by the dedicated participation of many sangha members (including a group from Dorje Ling). Each retreat depends on the collective support from the sangha in person and online, and this year was especially successful thanks to everyone’s harmonious efforts. Please enjoy these photos from the retreat.

"You must first practice hearing the Dharma, then contemplating it, then meditating upon it. If you don’t learn the Dharma first, then on what will you meditate? It will help you accomplish your own benefit and the benefits of others—in this life and future lives."
