Dear Friends,

I am excited to announce that the Edward Hopper House in Nyack, NY (a block from where my wife and I live on the Hudson River) will display my mother's outdoor sculptures this Summer during their Jazz Music in the Garden. (See photos of selected sculptures in the studio).

What an honor to have my mother's sculptures displayed in the birthplace and boyhood home of Edward Hopper who is widely acknowledged as one of the most important realist painters of the twentieth-century America.

Tomorrow I will rent a 15' U-Haul truck to pick up the six sculptures (see below) in the Dorothy Gillespie studio to be installed in the Hopper garden before the Jazz Music in the Garden season begins on July 8th. The concerts will run every Thursday through mid-September. (See music schedule below)

Regards,

Gary

PS. Last week the Hopper House sent out a press release

2021 marks the 50th Anniversary of the formation of Edward Hopper House Museum & Study Center. In 1971, shortly after Edward Hopper's death, a group of volunteers banded together to preserve his childhood home in Nyack, New York. Today the house is a non-profit museum and study center that celebrates Hopper's legacy through artifacts, programs, and exhibitions inspired by America's iconic painter.

His birthplace and boyhood home was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

It is now operated as the Edward Hopper House Art Center. It serves as a nonprofit community cultural center featuring exhibitions, workshops, lectures, performances, and special events.
