Join us for the Manchester Tractor Parade to help us promote Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Jr. while joining in on the community fun!

We have a tractor and a flatbed trailer, now all we need is a chorus of beautiful voices! Do you love to sing holiday carols? That’s all it takes to join us! No audition, just show up and sing. We’ll sing a couple tunes from Rudolph, and then add in a few more classics. Easy peasy. If people want to dress in holiday attire or holiday costumes…GREAT!!!

The Manchester Tractor Parade is Saturday, December 6 @5:30pm

Circle of Readers

The Circle of Readers meets on the second Tuesday of the month at the Dorset Playhouse. The next meeting will be on Tuesday December 9 at 6:30 to explore the script of Inherit the Wind.*

Inherit the Wind is a fictionalized account of the Scopes Trial, a legal case brought against John Scopes, who was accused of violating a law that prohibited the teaching of human evolution in a Tennessee public school. As the story unfolds in the courtroom and through the voices of the townspeople, a central message becomes clear. It is one that supports the right to question the status quo, to think freely and to reach one's own conclusions without fear of suppression.

Scripts will be provided. For questions or attendance confirmation, please contact Cheryl Gushee @ 802-379-1031 or Dorset Players' business office at 802-867-5570.

*This reading was canceled in November due to a snowstorm.

Play Planning Meeting

It is time to plan the next season and while we are at it, let’s plan two!

A meeting will be held on December 9 at 6pm at the Dorset Playhouse for submissions by directors for the the coming seasons.

Executive Producers, Paul Michael Brinker & Elisabeth Hazelton will accept submissions for the next two seasons and hear directors’ ideas of what they would like to bring to the Dorset Playhouse stage. We are looking for musicals, comedies, dramas, kids shows, special events, staged readings and whatever else you can think of throwing our theatrical way. Please bring a script of what you would like to submit so our committee can get to work on planning without delay. If you cannot make the meeting, please contact Paul Michael in the Business Office (802-867-5570 or info@dorsetplayers.org) to make your submissions.

Christmas Carols at Equinox Terrace

This special event marks the beginning of a Players' annual tradition, aimed at sharing music and joy with the community during the holiday season. If you would like to sing with us, please reach out to Lorri Bond at 802-772-5155.

The goal of this course is to demystify the process of script analysis.

By the end of the course, participants will have a place to start and a process for when they begin that focuses on how the action crafts the story so what comes is entertaining for the souls and engaging to the minds of the audience.
